Here's a stealthy Lalo snapping a photo of a truck with a roof mounted machine gun, which was, without a doubt, closer than this photo displays!
The voyage also boasted other excitement...a protest!!! After asking about what the protest was about, here's the skinny version:
It was about water rights. One town was denying water to another town...historically, that just pisses people off!

So the whole convoy was delayed for 2 hours! A couple of people got clever and offered the protesters $200 US to let the convoy of race cars pass through the road block. The offer was, apparently, seriously considered. However, the protest organizers decided that they would seem like sell outs if they accepted the proposal and stuck to the road block AND thought it might be fun to have another protest on the day one of race to Oaxaca. We are hopeful that they aren't that organized.

Alas! The taxi makes it soundly to Huatulco! Thanks to Bill, I mean, Memo and Lalo (Ed)! You guys rock!
Tomorrow, Martin arrives and the Taxi Perdido goes through tech inspection.
