The pace of this race is grueling and exhilarating at the same time. This blog is a peek into the world of crewing for a team in LCP.
Bill will be towing El Taxi across the Mexican border soon with the La Carrera Convoy. The convoy includes most of the cars from the US that entered to run in the event. Last year's voyage to the race start in Tuxtla Gutierrez was nerve wracking, to say the least. Some of you may recall a seemingly 'last' email I sent out as we forged our way in the night on horribly storm ravaged roads to the race start in Tuxtla Gutierrez: (I found the email)

We find ourselves in Tuxtla after an all day into the night, where the fuck are we now, giving up on the TomTom gps that had a SPECIAL Mexico maps download but kept trying to lead us into kidnap murdervilles, nail biting due to pot holes the size of the little Alfa taxi, which, mind you was driving and not being towed for 1090 kilometers, brake slamming, staring into the abyss of a washed out road while traveling by star light only on the WRONG road which we committed to 150k ago, arriving in Tuxtla at 10 pm and thinking about Gerie Bledsoe's party in San Miguel de Allende we chose to miss out on in order to get here earlier!
